Each film-coated tablet contains Sacubitril Valsartan Sodium Hemipentahydrate equivalent to
Sacubitril 49 mg and Valsartan 51 mg.
Sacubitril/valsartan is an angiotensin receptor–neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI). The active metabolite of sacubitril, LBQ657, inhibits neprilysin (NEP). This dual mechanism of action enhances the effects of natriuretic peptides and reduces the adverse effects of angiotensin II. As a result, it leads to vasodilation, natriuresis and diuresis, improvement of renal function, inhibition of renin and aldosterone secretion, and reduction of sympathetic activity. It also contributes to the prevention of cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis. Valsartan selectively blocks AT1 receptors, thereby inhibiting the harmful effects of angiotensin II on the cardiovascular system and kidneys, as well as suppressing aldosterone secretion. Consequently, it prevents vasoconstriction, sodium and fluid retention, cellular growth, proliferation, and ultimately the development of pathological cardiovascular remodeling.
Indications
SAVA is indicated for the treatment of chronic heart failure (NYHA Class II–IV) with reduced ejection fraction in adults, as well as in children and adolescents aged 1 year and older. The product is used in these patients to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization due to heart failure. SAVA is prescribed with standard heart failure therapies as an alternative to ACE inhibitors or ARBs.
