Each capsule contains 200 mg of danazol.
Danazol shows a relatively high affinity for androgen receptors, a relatively lower affinity for progesterone receptors, and the lowest affinity for estrogen receptors. Danazol is a weak androgen; however, additional antiandrogenic, progestogenic, antiprogestogenic, estrogenic, and antiestrogenic effects have also been observed.
Danazol inhibits FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) levels, particularly in the middle of the menstrual cycle, and reduces the cyclic fluctuations of LH. It may also reduce plasma levels of gonadotropins after menopause.

Lozana may be used either in conjunction with surgical treatment or as hormonal therapy alone in patients who do not respond to other treatments.
