Each tablet contains 2.5 mg of letrozole.
Letrozole is a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor. It inhibits aromatase enzymes by competitively binding to the heme of the P₄₅₀ aromatase cytochrome, thereby reducing estrogen biosynthesis in all tissues where it is present.
Indications
- Adjuvant treatment of early invasive breast cancer in postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive disease.
- Extended adjuvant treatment of early invasive breast cancer in postmenopausal women who have received standard adjuvant tamoxifen therapy for five years.
- First-line treatment of locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer in postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive or hormone receptor-unknown disease.
- Treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women with disease progression following anti-estrogen therapy.
