Each tablet contains 75 mg of clopidogrel (as hydrogen sulfate) and 75 mg of acetylsalicylic acid.
The active metabolite of clopidogrel selectively inhibits the binding of ADP to the P2Y12 receptor on platelets and the subsequent activation of the GPIIb/IIIa complex, thereby preventing platelet aggregation.
Acetylsalicylic acid irreversibly inhibits the prostaglandin cyclooxygenase enzyme, thereby inhibiting the formation of thromboxane A2, which induces platelet aggregation and vasoconstriction, and consequently preventing platelet aggregation.
Indications
Clocard-A Tablet is used in adults with atherosclerosis to prevent the formation of blood clots and reduce the risk of atherothrombotic events such as stroke, myocardial infarction, or death.
In addition, Clocard-A Tablet is indicated for patients with severe chest pain (unstable angina) or a history of myocardial infarction who are taking clopidogrel and aspirin separately, in order to prevent the formation of blood clots.
