AugenStock Trophen Sterile Eye Drops – Each ml contains Tropicamide USP 8 mg and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride USP 50 mg.
AugenStock Trophen sterile eye drops is a combination of Tropicamide and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride.
Tropicamide is an anticholinergic agent which paralyses the sphincter muscle of the iris resulting in pupillary dilatation. The ciliary muscle is also paralyzed leading to loss of accommodation.
Phenylephrine Hydrochloride is an alpha receptor sympathetic agonist used in local ocular disorder because of its vasoconstrictor and mydriatic action without cycloplegia.
Indication
As a mydriatic, Trophen is indicated in some pre & post-operative states and for ophthalmologic examinations like during ophthalmoscopy, slit-lamp examination, retinal photography, laser treatment or adjunct in the treatment of anterior uveitis. It also may be used in temporary lowering of intraocular pressure in glaucoma.
